This method consists of collecting communication tickets in all the exchange centres in text files containing the following information:
Once the files have been read by the
system, the user has to assign to each possible origin/destination couple, a
type of communication (urban, interurban, international outgoing, etc.).
If for any reason, the file is not available for a given location, the user has
the possibility to copy the data from another location considered as similar.
The collection of the data must be performed in a "normal" period (avoiding, for
instance, holiday periods) and the ideal duration would be five days.
If some files do not have the same collection time, the system will
automatically normalize.
If the format of the data in the file is not correct, a message will be
generated telling the user where the mistake is and asking him to correct the file
manually.
This button allows the user to import a
new data file. When done, a data set number is automatically assigned and the
“ticket interpretation” dialogue box is automatically started.
This button allows the user to import
data from another location considered as similar, if the data file could not
be extracted. The user has the possibility of selecting a data source from all
the existing data sets in the system. The new location name must be entered manually, and a new data
set number is automatically assigned by the system.
When done, the “location information” dialogue box is automatically started,
as if the file had been normally imported.
This button allows for suppression of an
existing data set from the system. It will no longer be taken into account in
the traffic estimation. A deleted data set cannot be recovered.
This button allows for starting the
“ticket interpretation” dialogue box that will allow assignment to each
possible origin/destination couple, a type of communication (see dedicated
contextual help or help file for more details).
This last button allows for generation of a report that displays the content of all the data sets imported or copied, and for each line, the type of communication, if it has been defined by the user.
